It’s a clog maker that installed himself first on the estate around 1760. He was called Mr Sabardin, which is my mother’s maiden name. The family house dates back to 1983 and was built by my grandfather. He was the mayor of the district during the war. He was a winegrower and made his own wine, with a cellar that was on the property. Many fires broke out on the land and destroyed historical parts of the buildings. My grandfather became a member of the cave de Mesterrieux as soon as it was built. Now I am the President since 1999, twenty years after taking over the estate. I represent the 9th generation ! From 9ha of vines at first, we have now 25 ha. More than the volume, we are looking towards quality and ethics. That’s why we are committed in an organic farming approach. Bernard GORIOUX
